Truck arson, Thornlands

Detectives from Cleveland Criminal Investigation Branch investigating an overnight truck fire at Thornlands are appealing for public information.

The owners of the white 2003 Hino FD series tip truck were travelling along Cleveland Redland Bay Road, between Finlandia Village and Pinklands Recreation Reserve, at around 7pm last night (Saturday, February 1) when they sustained a flat tyre.

The tip truck was left parked and locked on the side of the road.

At around 3.05am this morning emergency services were advised that the truck was on fire.

The blaze, which started after entry was forced into the vehicle, completely destroyed the cabin and front of the truck.

Police would like to speak to anyone who may have saw vehicle/s or people stopped near or next to the truck throughout the evening and early morning.

Detectives are also appealing for anyone with relevant dash cam to contact them.
