A truck driver has been charged following a fatal crash near Goulburn yesterday.
About 7pm (Friday 20 March 2026), emergency services were called to the Hume Highway, Marulan, following reports of a crash.
Officers attached to the Hume Police District attended and found three vehicles – a B-double truck, a minivan and a ute – had collided.
A passenger in the minivan – a 58-year-old woman – was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, she died at the scene.
The driver of the minivan – a 36-year-old woman – was flown to Canberra Hospital in a critical condition, while a second passenger in the minivan was flown to Liverpool Hospital in a serious condition.
A third passenger in the minivan – a 32-year-old woman – sustained minor injuries.
The driver of the ute – a 28-year-old man – and the driver of the truck – a 31-year-old man – were both taken to Goulburn Base Hospital for mandatory testing.
A crime scene was established and the Crash Investigation Unit commenced an investigation.
Following inquiries, the truck driver was arrested and taken to Goulburn Police Station, where he was charged with dangerous driving occasioning death-drive manner dangerous, negligent driving (occasioning death) and two counts of cause bodily harm by misconduct, in charge of motor vehicle.
He was granted conditional bail to appear before Goulburn Local Court on Friday 10 April 2026.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
