Today the trust publishes it's first ever Roadmap to Inclusion, 2022-2024

Roadmap

Today (23 May), King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has published its first ever Roadmap to Inclusion 2022-2024, which sets out the steps the Trust will be taking over the next two years to make King's a more inclusive place to work, and to be treated.

King's is an incredibly diverse organisation, serving diverse communities. For instance, our 14,000 staff represent over 130 nationalities, and we are incredibly proud of the rich cultural heritage provided by our staff, patients and local communities.

The Trust's new roadmap to inclusion, which can be accessed here , builds on the Trust's commitment to put equality, diversity and inclusion at the heart of everything we do.

We know the Trust is not as inclusive as it can be. The Roadmap is designed to help us tackle inequalities through practical initiatives, such as making diverse recruitment panels mandatory for certain roles, increasing diversity in recruitment to research teams, and embedding a Equality Risk Assessment Framework (ERAF) in all new and reviewed policies.

These steps will help turn our ambitions into meaningful improvements for everyone connected to King's. By 2024, we are committed to making a marked difference in:

• Improving representation of staff, especially at senior levels which reflect the diversity of our communities;

• Strengthening and embedding our inclusive values at all levels, which will result in a marked reduction in our bullying, harassment and disciplinary numbers;

• Ensuring our leaders are visible and active champions of equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI), which will be evidenced by improved staff satisfaction across the Trust;

• Targeted interventions that will seek to address inequalities in access, experience and outcomes for people across our sites and services.
