Tweed Shops to Shine with Festive Christmas Displays

Tweed Shire Council

Retail businesses across Tweed are being invited to embrace the Christmas spirit by participating in the 2025 Festive Shopfronts competition.

Those who decorate their shops or shopfronts can register online for the chance to win one of 3 ultimate business packs valued at $1,000.

All entries will be showcased on the Tweed Festive Shopfronts interactive map which will promote festive displays across the region. The aim is to encourage residents to explore local shopping precincts and support Tweed businesses this Christmas.

The initiative is part of Council's Succeed in Tweed business support program and is delivered in collaboration with the business chambers of Tweed Heads, Kingscliff and Murwillumbah, and the Tweed Valley Weekly.

Mayor of Tweed Shire, Chris Cherry, said the campaign celebrates local businesses and invites the community to support our stores and shopping precincts this festive season.

"This is a great initiative for businesses to connect with their community. It adds festive spirit to the shopping experience in our precincts and inspires people to choose local throughout the season," Cr Cherry said.

"The Tweed Festive Shopfronts campaign shows Council's commitment to supporting business in collaboration with our local chambers. The 3 chambers are partners in the initiative, but we are encouraging all Tweed businesses to enter. Shopping local at Christmas benefits the community, supports local jobs and helps our small business economy thrive."

Entrants are asked to upload a photograph with a business name and address to register. They need to have a shopfront or a physical business premises with a festive display open to the public.

Winning displays will be selected by representatives from Tweed Shire Council, the local business chambers and Tweed Valley Weekly. One winner will be chosen for each of the 3 precinct areas.

Prize packs consist of a $500 Gift Pay e‑voucher, complimentary one‑year membership to their local business chamber, and a quarter‑page advertising package in the Tweed Valley Weekly. Registrations open Monday 1 December and close 12pm on Sunday 14 December but businesses are encouraged to start decorating now!
