Two Arrested After Noble Park Motorcycle Injury

Greater Dandenong Highway Patrol officers have arrested a man and a woman after a motorcyclist was struck by a car in Noble Park this afternoon.

Officers have been told a grey Ford hatchback and a grey Volkswagen Golf were allegedly seen racing each other on the Princes Highway just before 2.30pm.

Both vehicles allegedly ran a red light, before the Ford struck a motorcyclist.

The driver of the Ford got out of the vehicle and entered the Volkswagen which fled the scene.

Police located the Volkswagen shortly after and arrested a man and a woman.

The 22-year-old Melton woman and 27-year-old Beaconsfield man are currently in custody where they will be interviewed by police.

The male rider was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

It is understood the Volkswagen was bearing false registration plates.

Police are appealing for witnesses and any motorists with dashcam vision, who may have witnessed the Ford and Volkswagen prior to the collision, to come forward.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or with dashcam is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or log onto www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
