Two arrested after pursuit ends at St Morris, SA

Two people were arrested after a pursuit with a stolen car in the eastern suburbs overnight, according to SA Police.

About 3.15am on Wednesday 7 September, patrols spotted a red Holden Commodore sedan driving along Shipsters Road, Kensington. A police check of the registration confirmed the vehicle was stolen. The car failed to stop for police and was pursued for several minutes through the back streets of Kensington and Magill before it turned into a dead end street in Fifth Avenue, St Morris.

The two occupants were arrested without further incident. Of great concern to police, a child was located in the back seat of the stolen car.

The driver, a 28-year-old Craigmore woman, was charged with illegal use, drive to evade police, drive while disqualified and breach of bail. The passenger, a 33-year-old Enfield man was charged with illegal use. They were both refused bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today.

Families SA have been notified of the incident.

The vehicle had been reported stolen yesterday afternoon from an Elizabeth business.
