Two arrested after pursuit in western suburbs, SA

Two men have been arrested after a pursuit this morning in the western suburbs, according to SA Police.

Just after 3am, a police patrol saw a stolen Volvo sedan and a stolen white Toyota RAV4 station wagon travelling north on Bower Road at Semaphore. The patrol attempted to stop the cars, but both vehicles sped off and the pursuit was terminated.

The police helicopter was called in to monitor the cars, and extra patrols went to the area to search for the cars.

The stolen Volvo was found dumped in Railway Terrace at Cheltenham about half an hour later, and with the assistance of police dogs two suspects were found nearby. The driver of the Toyota were not located.

A 30-year-old man from Point Pearce and a 21-year-old Torrensville man were both charged with illegal use of a motor vehicle and breach of bail.

They have both been refused bail to appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court today.

Anyone who may have seen either vehicle in the western suburbs this morning is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
