Two arrested after stolen car abandoned in Lockleys, SA

Police have arrested two youths following a brief pursuit in Glenelg North this morning, according to SA Police.

At 5.20am, Thursday 5 October, police spotted a car travelling on Tapleys Hill Road and attempted to stop the car to speak to the driver.

The driver failed to stop and took off at speed away from police. A brief pursuit ensued before it was terminated for safety reasons.

The car was found abandoned on White Avenue, Lockleys with a blown rear tyre. Police set up cordons and police dog Marley tracked down two 16-year-old boys hiding in separate locations having run from the car.

Subsequent investigations have revealed that the car was stolen from a St Georges address overnight.

The boys, from Taperoo and Woodville Gardens, have been charged and refused bail and will appear at court later today.
