Two arrested following Carlton incident

Police arrested two males following a report of a firearms incident in Carlton this afternoon, Victoria Police say.

Police were called to a high-rise building on Drummond Street following reports three males armed with a firearm were seen walking into the building about 2.45pm.

A number of local police units, including Public Order Response Team and Critical Incident Response Team officers searched the building.

An 18-year-old Carlton man ran from police and was arrested on the corner of Drummond Street and Princes Street just before 7pm.

The second male aged 17 from Carlton was arrested on Rathdowne Street just after 7pm.

Both males are currently in custody.

No firearm has been located and police are not searching for anyone else.

The investigation remains ongoing.
