Logan police have arrested two teenage boys in relation to multiple property-crime offences across the Gold Coast and South Brisbane Districts over the past few weeks.
Just before 6.30pm last night, 27 October, police sighted a Grey 2021 Audi Q3 in South Brisbane. The Audi had been reported stolen from Lentara Street at Kenmore on October 24.
PolAir tracked the vehicle south to the Gold Coast and Logan Districts.
The Audi was travelling in convoy with a blue 2014 Mazda CX-5. The Mazda had been reported stolen from Azurite Close at Logan Reserve around 12.45am on 26 October.
Both vehicles have been linked to a number of property crimes across the Gold Coast and South Brisbane District over the past few weeks.
The Audi containing two males was tracked to Browns Plains where the passenger fled the vehicle into nearby bushland, around 10pm.
A 17-year-old Boronia Heights boy was taken into custody by Dog Squad officers a short time later.
The Audi then continued for approximately 10 minutes to Mount Street at Browns Plains where it was abandoned by the driver, who ran into a nearby house.
Officers arrested a 13-year-old Durack boy at the scene.
The abandoned Mazda was located around 10.10pm at Logan Road at Underwood.
A 17-year-old Boronia Heights boy has now been charged with six counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle. He will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.
A 13-year-old Durack boy has been charged with thirteen property offences relating to incidents across the Gold Coast and Calamvale in recent weeks.
He is scheduled to appear at the Beenleigh Childrens Court today, 28 October.
