Two arrests made over stabbing of three teens - Northmead

Two people have been arrested following investigations by Parramatta Police Area Command and Strike Force Imbara into the serious stabbing of three teenagers in Sydney's west.

About 10.45pm on Saturday 3 August 2019, a group of uninvited male guests attended a party at a home in Northmead.

Police will allege the males assaulted and stabbed a 17-year-old boy in the back before assaulting and stabbing 19-year-old man in the shoulder and back. Another man, 19, came to his defence before the males allegedly slashed open his hand with the knife.

All three teenagers were taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition, with one requiring surgery and another suffering fractured ribs.

Following extensive inquires, detectives from Parramatta Police Area Command, with assistance of Strike Force Imbara investigators and specialist tactical officers, arrested a 20-year-old man at Acacia Gardens and a 16-year-old boy at a home in Blacktown about 6.30am today (Thursday 10 October 2019).

Shortly after, police executed search warrants at the two properties.

The pair were taken to Blacktown Police Station, where they are assisting officers with their inquiries.

Strike Force Imbara was established in July, formed by officers attached to South West Metropolitan Region and North West Metropolitan Region, to investigate anti-social and violent behaviour of local street-level criminal networks.

Investigators are currently conducting inquiries into a number of assaults and other public acts of violence, which are believed to linked.

Further arrests are expected to be made over a number of related ongoing investigations.

Anyone with information that may assist Strike Force Imbara investigators is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence.
