Two Bodies Found After House Fire At Bowen Mountain

An investigation is underway after two bodies were found following a house fire in Sydney's northwest.

Emergency services were called to Lieutenant Bowen Road, Bowen Mountain, about 2.10am (Monday 27 April 2026), after reports of a fire.

A man and four children were able to escape the house, but two residents were unaccounted for.

The man and four children were taken to Penrith Hospital for treatment for smoke inhalation and minor burns.

Fire and Rescue NSW and NSW Rural Fire Service firefighters attended and extinguished the blaze about 3.30am.

Two bodies – believed to be that of the unaccounted-for residents – were found when the home was searched.

Officers attached to Hawkesbury Police Area Command have established a crime scene.

Inquiries are now underway to formally identify the bodies and determine how the fire started.
