Two cars stolen during aggravated home invasion

Three offenders forced their way into a home in Frankston South overnight and stole a number of personal items and the homeowners two luxury cars.

Police have been told the offenders entered the home in Kirby Court by forcing the rear French doors of the home just after midnight.

The men, who wore face coverings and were armed with machetes or similar knives, made their way through the home demanding personal items including phones, iPad's and keys to the family's cars.

The male resident of the home was threatened during the incident but not physically injured.

The woman, who was hiding in an upstairs cupboard, raised the alarm and called police.

The trio, described as two men of African appearance and one-man Caucasian in appearance, left the home and made off with the victims two cars, a white Jeep Cherokee and white BMW X5.

Follow up enquiries have revealed the stolen BMW has been recovered after being dumped in Richmond.

The white Jeep Cherokee, with registration number ZGC037 remains outstanding.

Frankston Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating and appealing for anyone with information to come forward or for anyone who sites the stolen car to call Triple Zero (000).

Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or log into www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
