Two charged after break-in, stolen items recovered in Mittagong

Two men have been charged following an alleged break-in at a home in the Southern Highlands last week, NSW Police say.

Between 8.15am and 2.30pm on Friday 25 November 2016, a home on Ellen Street, Bowral, was allegedly broken into and jewellery and electronics were stolen.

Officers from The Hume Local Area Command were notified and commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, about 4pm today, a 19-year-old man attended Bowral Police Station for an unrelated offence.

He was arrested and charged with break enter and steal.

A short time later, a search warrant was executed at a home on Sunset Point Drive, Mittagong.

During the search, police located and seized jewellery and cannabis. Three firearms and ammunition were also seized from a gun safe.

At the location, a 21-year-old man was arrested after he failed to comply with police direction.

He was taken to Bowral Police Station and charged with two counts of supply prohibited drug and resist officer in execution of duty.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Moss Vale Local Court on Tuesday 20 December 2016.

The 19-year-old man was refused bail to appear at Goulburn Local Court tomorrow.

Inquiries are ongoing.
