Two charged after commercial quantity of methamphetamine found - Darwin

Members from the Drug and Organised Crime Division have arrested and charged a 30-year-old male and 28-year-old female in relation to a commercial quantity of methamphetamine.

The drugs were found on Tuesday this week after a drug detection dog responded to a package in Katherine being freighted to Darwin from interstate. Examination of the package revealed 454 grams of methamphetamine and 28 grams of cannabis concealed inside. , Northern Territory Police say

The potential street value of the methamphetamine is around $450,000.

Both were charged with the following:

- Supply Schedule 1 Dangerous Drug – Commercial Qty;

- Possess Schedule 1 Dangerous Drug – Commercial Qty;

- Possess Schedule 2 Dangerous Drug; and

- Possess Thing – Administer Dangerous Drug.

The male and female were remanded to appear in Darwin Local Court on 24 May 2018.
