Two charged after firearms found at Christie Downs, SA

Two people were arrested after firearms, hydroponic equipment and a stolen motorcycle were found at their Christie Downs home this morning, according to SA Police.

Firearms Branch detectives searched the home this morning, Wednesday 5 July, and allegedly located a sawn-off shotgun, sawn-off .22 rifle, a handgun and ammunition.

A 25-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman were arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated possess prescribed firearm, aggravated possess H class firearm and store loaded firearm.

They were also charged with possess prescribed equipment and unlawful possession after police found hydroponic equipment and a stolen motorcycle at the address.

Expiation notices were issued in relation to a quantity of insecure ammunition, cannabis and implements located at the scene.

The pair were refused police bail and are expected to appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on 6 July.
