Two men have been charged after they allegedly threatened a teenager with a machete and stole his e-bike in the Illawarra over the weekend.
About 8.50pm on Saturday (6 September 2025), police were called to Shellharbour Road, Warilla near Barnes Street, following reports of an armed robbery.
Officers attached to the South Region Operations Support Group (OSG) arrived and were told a group of teenagers were allegedly approached by two men riding e-scooters, when they allegedly threatened a 13-year-old boy with a machete before stealing his e-bike and leaving the scene.
Following inquiries, about 10.30pm the same day, officers attached to Lake Illawarra Police District and Southern Region OSG attended a home in Fleetwood Crescent, Warilla.
During a search of the property police located and seized a machete and two electric scooters.
Two men, aged 20 and 23, were arrested and taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station.
They were charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon and formally refused bail in Parramatta Local Court yesterday (Sunday 7 September 2025), to appear in Wollongong Local Court on Wednesday 5 November 2025.
