Two Charged After Zombie Knife Found in Blacktown

A teenage boy and a man have been charged after knives were seized in Sydney's west.

About 12pm yesterday (Thursday 31 July 2025), officers attached to Blacktown Police Area Command were conducting high-visibility patrols around the Blacktown CBD.

Police will allege a 17-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man ran when officers approached them. A short chase ensued, during which the man allegedly threw away a kitchen knife. It was recovered and taken for examination.

A subsequent search was conducted of the teenage boy, with police allegedly locating a 50cm long zombie knife in his possession.

They were arrested and taken to Blacktown Police Station they have been charged with possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit.

The boy was granted conditional bail to appear before a children's court on Thursday 28 August 2025.

The man was refused bail and appeared before Blacktown Local Court yesterday (Thursday 31 July 2025), where he is set to reappear today (Friday 1 August 2025).
