Two charged following Ararat warrant

Two people have been charged following an investigation into an alleged card-skimming scheme, Victoria Police say.

Ararat Crime Investigation Unit detectives and members from the Ararat Tasking Unit executed a search warrant at a King Street address today, allegedly locating an array of items including drugs, counterfeit cash, ammunition and a device allegedly used to skim credit cards.

A 27-year-old Ararat man and 23-year-old Ararat woman were both charged with a total of 10 offences, including trafficking drug of dependence (methamphetamine); possess drug of dependence (methamphetamine); possess drug of dependence (ecstasy); obtain property by deception; and commit indictable offence while on bail.

Both have been remanded in custody to appear at Ballarat Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (21 December).
