Financial Crimes Squad detectives have charged two men for an alleged $9 million fraud scheme under Strike Force Pessac.
Strike Force Pessac was established by State Crime Command's Financial Crimes Squad in August 2024 into a Sydney-based syndicate using fabricated documents, false identities and altered financial records to commit fraud.
A forensic review of 32 business and personal bank accounts linked to the syndicate allegedly revealed that between October 2022 and June 2025, approximately $8.98 million was made using fraudulent methods.
Following extensive inquiries into the syndicate, about 6am yesterday (Thursday 23 October 2025), strike force detectives – with assistance from Raptor Squad – executed two search warrants in Sans Souci and Kingsgrove.
During searches of the properties, police located and seized luxury watches, more than $12,000 cash, vehicles, electronics and a large volume of documents relevant to their investigation.
A 71-year-old was arrested in San Souci and was taken to Kogarah Police Station, where he was charged with two counts of deal with identity info to commit etc indictable offence, two counts of dishonestly obtain property by deception, two counts of knowingly deal with proceeds of crime, and recklessly deal proceeds general crime intend to conceal.
The man was refused bail to appear in Sutherland Local Court today (Friday 24 October 2025).
At the Kingsgrove address, police arrested a 63-year-old man. He was taken to Kogarah Police Station, where he was charged with two counts of dishonestly obtain property by deception, two counts of knowingly deal with proceeds of crime, and two counts of possess identity info to commit etc indictable offence.
He was refused bail and appeared in Sutherland Local Court yesterday.
