Two Charged in Alectown Rural Break-In

Two men will face court over an alleged break and enter at a rural property in the state's west earlier this year.

In June 2025, officers attached to Central West Police District and Rural Crime Prevention Team (RCPT) have commenced an investigation following reports of an alleged break and enter at grain silos in Alectown, approximately 24km north of Parkes.

Police were told between Saturday 7 June 2025 and Thursday 12 June 2025, a number of people broke into a grain facility on Alectown West Road, Alectown before they damaged wires, stole a water pump equipment and left the scene.

The estimated cost of damages at the facility is believed o be more than $484,000.

Police established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the incident.

Following inquiries, about 8.45am on Thursday 11 September 2025, police arrested a 38-year-old man on Acacia Drive, Forbes.

A 35-year-old man was also arrested at Parkes Police Station about 4.20pm on the same day.

They were both taken to Parkes Police Station where they were charged with aggravated break and enter dwelling etc in company steal less than or equal to $60000, destroy or damage property more than $15000, and larceny value more than $5000 and less than or equal to $15000.

They were refused bail to appear at Bail Division Court 4 today (Friday 12 September 2025).
