Two charged, one outstanding after vehicle avoids RBT site - Blakehurst

A man and woman have been charged as investigations continue to locate a man after a vehicle allegedly avoided an RBT site in Sydney's south early this morning.

Officers attached to St George Police Area Command were conducting stationary RBT in the south-bound lanes of the Princes Highway, Blakehurst about 1.05am (Wednesday 4 September 2019), when a Nissan Pulsar took a sudden turn down a driveway before the site.

A male chief inspector and sergeant approached the vehicle, when a man got out of the rear door.

Officers took hold of the passenger, before the vehicle reversed from the driveway and drove away, with police having to jump out of its way.

The 20-year-old man was arrested and taken to Kogarah Police Station.

The Nissan was located shortly after by patrolling police in Beach Street, with police seizing items of interest including a substance believed to be methylamphetamine, scissors, several pairs of gloves, and number plates believed to be stolen.

With assistance from the Dog Unit, a woman was located hiding nearby. The 20-year-old woman was arrested and taken to Kogarah Police Station.

The man was charged with passenger not disclose driver's/other passenger's identity and refused bail to appear at Sutherland Local Court today (Wednesday 4 September 2019).

The woman was charged with possess implements to enter/drive conveyance and was granted conditional bail to appear at Sutherland Local Court on Tuesday 10 September 2019.

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate the suspected driver of the Nissan.
