Two Charged Over Stealing and Fraud Offences in Minto

A man and a teenage boy have been charged after an investigation into a number of alleged stealing and fraud offences in the state's Macarthur region.

On Monday 1 May 2023, officers attached to the Camden Proactive Crime Team commenced an investigation into a number of steal from motor vehicle offences and an aggravated break and enter in Harrington Park.

Following extensive inquiries, officers executed a search warrant at Styles Crescent in Minto about 8.30am on Thursday 4 May 2023.

During the search, police located bank cards, cash and numerous car keys, which were seized to undergo further forensic examination.

A 38-year-old man and a teenage boy were arrested at the scene and taken to Campbelltown Police Station.

The 16-year-old was charged with 16 offences, including:

- Drive conveyance taken without consent of owner,

- Two counts of dishonestly obtain financial advantage etc by deception,

- Four counts of enter vehicle or boat without consent of owner/occupier,

- Two counts of larceny value

- Two counts enter prescribed premises of any person without lawful excuse,

- Aggravated break and enter with intent -in company-not steal etc, and

- Four counts of Goods in personal custody suspected being stolen (not motor vehicle).

He was refused bail to appear at a children's court on Monday 5 June 2023.

A 38-year-old man was charged with seven counts of dishonestly obtain property by deception. He was refused bail to appear in Campbelltown Local Court on Thursday 11 May 2023.

Police will allege in court the young person was involved in the aggravated Harrington Park break and enter, as well as numerous steal from motor vehicle offences, while the man used the stolen credit cards.
