Two Charged With Drug Supply in Newcastle

Two women will face court today charged following a vehicle stop near Newcastle yesterday.

About 5.15pm (Monday 29 December 2025), officers from the Newcastle City Proactive Crime Team stopped a vehicle on Kimian Avenue, Waratah West.

During a subsequent search of the vehicle, police allegedly located and seized approximately 972.44g cocaine, 75.26g MDMA, and $65,240 cash.

The cocaine and MDMA has a combined estimated potential street value of $206,200.

Two women – aged 20 and 25 – were arrested and taken to Waratah Police Station.

Following inquiries, police executed a search warrant at a home on Camelia Street, Gillieston Heights, where several items of interest were seized.

The women were each charged with five offences,

  • Supply prohibited drug (greater than or equal to commercial quantity),
  • Supply prohibited drug (greater than indictable and less than commercial quantity),
  • Deal with property proceeds of crime (less than $100,000), and
  • Two counts of possess prohibited drug.

They were refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 2 today (Tuesday 30 December 2025).
