Two charged with identity fraud offences in Yagoona

A man and a woman will appear in court today on alleged identity fraud charges following a search warrant in Sydney’s west yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 9.30am today, detectives from Bankstown Local Area Command, with assistance from officers attached to Bass Hill Region Enforcement Squad, executed a search warrant at a home on Cooper Road, Yagoona.

During the search, police located and seized cannabis, methamphetamine, ammunition, portable EFTPOS machines, identification documents, credit cards, gift cards, a card scanner and other items.

A 25-year-old woman and a 39-year-old man were arrested at the location and taken to Bankstown Police Station.

The man was charged with deal with identity info to commit indictable offence, possess identity info to commit indictable offence, possess equipment etc make id info commit indictable offence, and possess ammunition without holding licence.

The woman was charged with deal with identity info to commit indictable offence and possess identity info to commit indictable offence.

They were both refused bail to appear at Bankstown Local Court tomorrow.
