Two dead in single-vehicle crash - New England Police District

A woman and man have died in a single-vehicle crash in the New England region.

Emergency services were called to the Newell Highway, Moree, about 7am (Sunday 5 February 2023), following reports a car had left the road and hit a tree.

Witnesses performed CPR before NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived; however, the female driver and the male passenger both died at the scene.

They are yet to be formally identified but are believed to be in their 30s.

Officers attached to New England Police District established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

As inquiries continue, anyone who witnessed the crash, or has dashcam vision relevant to the investigation, is urged to call Moree Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
