Two die after being hit by train - Berowra

A man and a woman have died after being hit by a train in Berowra overnight.

Shortly after 12am (Friday 2 February 2024), emergency services were called to Berowra Railway Station following reports a man and a woman had been hit by a train.

Police have been told a woman – aged in her 30s – was being assisted off the tracks by a man – aged in his 20s – when they were both hit by a freight train.

The pair were treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics, however they died at the scene. They have not been formally identified.

Officers from Kuring Gai Police Area Command established a crime scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
