Two injured after car collides with tree, NSW

Two people have been taken to hospital after a single-vehicle crash in Georges Hall this afternoon, NSW Police say.

About 5.20pm (Thursday 15 November 2018), emergency services were called to Henry Lawson Drive, Georges Hall, after reports a Ford Falcon station wagon collided with a tree.

Police Transport Command officers were in traffic behind the Ford and witnessed the crash.

First-responding police commenced CPR on the driver, a 78-year-old man, until the arrival of NSW Ambulance paramedics. He was taken to Liverpool Hospital with a police escort, where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

His female passenger, aged 78, was also taken to Liverpool Hospital suffering suspected broken ribs and bruising.

Officers from Bankstown Police Area Command attended assisted at the scene.

Officers from Police Transport Command South/South West are investigating the circumstances leading up to the crash.
