Two Injured After Pursuit And Crash - St Ives

Two people have been taken to hospital following a pursuit and crash in Sydney's north this afternoon.

About 4.15pm today (Saturday 4 April 2026), police were patrolling the North Manly area, when they attempted to stop a sedan travelling on Pittwater Road, following reports it had allegedly been involved in an earlier incident nearby.

When the driver allegedly failed to stop a pursuit was initiated by officers attached to Northern Beaches Police Area Command.

The pursuit continued along Warringah Road, Wakehurst Parkway, and Pittwater Road, Mona Vale, before it was terminated at Mona Vale due to safety concerns.

The sedan continued onto Mona Vale Road, where it collided with an unmarked police car near the intersection of Richmond Avenue, St Ives.

The driver and passenger of the sedan – a man and woman both aged 33 – were treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene before being taken to Royal North Shore Hospital in stable condition.

No officers were injured during the incident.

Police have established a crime scene and officers attached to Crash Investigation Unit have commenced inquiries into the cause of the crash.
