Two men arrested at West Richmond, SA

Sturt Police have arrested two men for numerous offences after they allegedly attempted to steal a car at West Richmond last night, according to SA Police.

Just after 8.30pm, a member of the public reported two men using torches acting suspiciously at an abandoned house on Leicester Street.

On patrols arrival, they located the two men in a car and trailer attempting to tow another vehicle from the premises.

Police checks revealed their car was unregistered and uninsured, the trailer plates were false and had been altered and the driver was driving while his licence was disqualified.

Further enquires also revealed they had no permission to be on the premises or take the car that was at the West Richmond house.

A 56-year-old man from no fixed place was charged with numerous traffic offences, driving while disqualified, being unlawfully on premises and theft. He has been refused police bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court later today.

The second man a 46-year-old man from Kilburn was arrested and charged with theft and being unlawfully on premises.
