Two men arrested for trafficking a controlled drug, SA

A 45-year-old man from Salisbury East has been charged with trafficking a controlled drug, possessing prescribed equipment and precursor chemicals following a traffic stop at Kilburn on 13 April, according to SA Police.

About 1.40am on Thursday morning, police stopped the man on Northcote St. Checks revealed that he was driving without a current licence, and was breaching his bail curfew.

Police will allege that a search of the man’s vehicle revealed a quantity of prescribed glassware and precursor chemicals, believed to be used in the manufacture of methamphetamine.

A tub containing 66 grams of a substance believed to be methamphetamine was allegedly found in the vehicle.

The driver and his passenger, a 38-year-old man from Paralowie, were both arrested and remanded in custody.

The passenger has also been charged with trafficking a controlled drug, possessing precursor chemicals and possessing prescribed equipment.

Both men are due to appear in court today.
