Two men charged after loaded firearms and 'ice' found during search of home, NSW

Two men have been charged after a vehicle stop led police to search a home, where they found a loaded sawn-off shotgun and prohibited weapons, NSW Police say.

About 5.45am yesterday (Wednesday 24 October 2018), officers from Strike Force Raptor stopped a vehicle on the M4 Motorway, Blacktown, and spoke with the 36-year-old male driver.

The man was subsequently arrested and taken to Blacktown Police Station.

Following further inquiries, Strike Force Raptor and the Police Transport Command’s Transport Action Group attended a home unit on Cowper Street, Parramatta.

Officers located a man, aged 38, inside the home, who was wanted on an outstanding revocation of parole warrant.

During the arrest, police saw drug paraphernalia and knuckle dusters in the home. A search warrant was applied for and later executed at the unit.

Police seized a loaded sawn-off shotgun, a replica sub-machine gun, two sets of knuckle dusters, methylamphetamine, a prescription pad, drug paraphernalia, and driver’s licences and bank cards, which are believed to be stolen.

The 36-year-old man was charged with take and drive conveyance without consent of owner, possess shortened firearm (not pistol) without authority, possess unauthorised prohibited firearm, possess unregistered firearm-prohibited firearm, possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit, possess loaded firearm endanger life non-public place, not keep firearm safely-prohibited firearm, possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority, and breach of bail.

He was refused bail and appeared at Blacktown Local Court yesterday, where he was formally refused bail to reappear at the same court on Thursday 8 November 2018.

The 38-year-old man was charged with the outstanding revocation warrant, possess prohibited drug, and goods in custody.

He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court today (Thursday 25 October 2018).

Inquiries are continuing.
