Two men injured, four being sought after affray at Mt Druitt

A man has been charged and four others are being sought after an affray at a sporting presentation day at Mt Druitt.

Just after 3pm today (Saturday 5 October 2019), police were called to Federation Park on Simpson Hill Road, Mount Druitt, after reports of an assault.

Police have been told a football presentation was being held at the park when a group of men attended and allegedly assaulted two men.

One man has been detained by a member of the public while four others fled the scene before police arrived.

Officers from Mount Druitt Police Area Command attended and arrested a 21-year-old Mt Druitt man.

He was taken to Mount Druitt Police Station where he has now been charged with one count of affray. He's been granted conditional bail to appear in Mt Druitt Local Court on Wednesday 30 October 2019.

As a consequence of the assault, a 21-year-old man was treated by paramedics after being found unconscious with facial injuries. He remains in Westmead Hospital, while a second man, aged 23, was taken to Nepean Hospital where he's been treated for cuts and bruising to his head.

Police have been told their injuries are not considered life-threatening.
