Two more youths charged over East Devonport arson

Two more youths have been charged with arson in relation to a fire in Wright Street East Devonport on Sunday.

Police and Tasmania Fire Service attended a structure fire at Unit 1/25 Wright Street, East Devonport on 24 May. Police Forensics and Tasmania Fire Scene examiners deemed the fire as deliberately lit, causing about $180,000 damage.

Three youths were charged in the first instance.

The investigation has been ongoing since the date of the fire and Devonport CIB has now charged a further two youths. These youths – aged 13 and 16 – have been bailed to appear in the Devonport Youth Justice Court at a later date.
