Two new members join Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Board

A senior health executive and a GP have been appointed to the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Board.

Dr Abbe Anderson and Dr David Rowlands OAM are the newest members of the nine-person board.

Brian Anker, Bruce Cowley, Emeritus Professor Birgit Lohmann, Debra Blumel and Rodney Cameron have also been reappointed.

Minister for Health and Ambulance Services Yvette D'Ath said Dr Anderson and Dr Rowlands will be welcome additions to the board given their health backgrounds.

"Dr Rowlands is a practising GP and is clearly dedicated to improving health and wellbeing for Queenslanders having also served as Chair of the Gold Coast Health and Wellbeing Council," Ms D'Ath said.

"Dr Anderson is currently a Non-Executive Director at Beyond Blue as well as holding roles at the Institute for Urban Indigenous Health and the Brisbane North Public Health Network, demonstrating a passion for supporting the health and wellbeing of Queenslanders across many different areas.

"I know they will work hard to deliver excellent health services for the Sunshine Coast."
