Two police officers assaulted, two women charged, NSW

Police have charged two women after allegedly assaulting two police officers in Warwick Farm yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 8.30pm today, two women were at a licensed premises on Hume Highway, Warwick Farm, where they were allegedly involved in a verbal altercation with a staff member.

Officers from Liverpool Local Area Command were at the location for a non-related job, and approached the women after seeing the altercation.

The women were asked to leave the premises, before a struggle ensued during which two police officers were allegedly assaulted.

Officers from neighbouring commands attended and assisted in securing the women who were allegedly resisting.

A 22-year-old woman was charged with assault police officer in execution of their duty.

A 27-year-old woman was charged with assault police officer in the execution of their duty and excluded persons fail to leave premises when required.

They were issued a Future Court Attendance Notice to appear at Liverpool Local Court on Wednesday 7 June 2017.

The male senior constable suffered an injury to his arm as a result of the incident.

The female constable did not require treatment.
