Two serious motor cycle crashes, NSW

Police are investigating after two serious motor cycle crashes on the Oxley Highway at Mt Seaview, 80km west of Port Macquarie, today, NSW Police say.

Just after 11.45am today, police were called to the Oxley Highway following reports of a motor cycle crash.

The 35-year-old male rider suffered serious leg injuries and was taken to John Hunter Hospital by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.

A few hours later, about 2pm today, police were called to the same stretch of highway following reports of a second motor cycle crash.

Emergency services attended; however the 51-year-old male rider died at the scene.

Police from Mid North Coast Local Area Command are investigating both incidents.

Officers would like to speak to the driver of a vehicle, described as a small white car, who may have witnessed the second crash.

A brief will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
