Two seriously injured in crash near Orange, NSW

Two people are in hospital, one in a critical condition, after a crash in the state’s central west today, NSW Police say.

About 3.40pm today, emergency services were called to the Mitchell Highway, Molong, about 35km north-west of Orange.

Police have been told a Toyota RAV 4 travelling west and a Mitsubishi ASX travelling east collided.

The driver of the Mitsubishi, a 45-year-old man, was taken to Orange Health Service in a critical condition.

The driver of the Toyota, a 19-year-old woman, was trapped before being released and airlifted to Orange Health Service in a stable condition.

The Mitchell Highway remains closed in both directions while the scene is examined.

Officers from the Crash Investigation Unit will investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
