Two teens arrested at Gulfview Heights, SA

Police have arrested two teenagers after they were allegedly caught breaking into cars at Gulfview Heights overnight, according to SA Police.

Just aft 12.30am on Monday 17 July a resident in Riverbank Parade alerted police to a group of people arriving in a silver Subaru wagon and interfering with cars parked in the street. The suspects were disturbed by an occupant of a nearby home and ran off leaving the Subaru wagon behind.

Patrols searched the area but were unable to locate the five suspects. A short time later, patrols were called back to Riverbank Parade after two of the suspects returned to the Subaru and were detained by local residents until police arrived.

A 16-year-old girl from Greenwith and a 17-year-old boy from South Plympton were arrested and charged with illegal interference of a motor vehicle and theft. There were both bailed to appear in the Elizabeth Youth Court on 25 August.

Investigations are continuing into the three remaining suspects.
