Two teenagers charged following an alleged assault of two passengers on a bus in Sydney's north-west last month.
About 6.30pm on Tuesday 28 May 2026, a 16-year-old girl and an 18-year-old man were travelling on a bus in Penrith, when they were allegedly approached by group of teenagers, who assaulted them.
The group exited the bus and left the scene.
The girl and man both sustained minor injuries; and officers attached to North West Police Transport Command were notified and commenced an investigation.
Following extensive inquiries, yesterday (Monday 11 May 2026), police attended a unit in Kingswood and arrested a 14-year-old girl.
She was taken to Penrith Police Station and charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, common assault and affray.
The girl was granted strict conditional bail to appear before a children's court on Friday 5 June 2026.
Today (Tuesday 12 May 2026), officers arrested a 16-year-old girl at a home in Whalan, before being taken to Mount Druitt Police Station, where she was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company of other(s).
She was granted strict conditional bail to appear before a children's court on Friday 22 May 2026.
On the same day, a 12-year-old girl in Tregear and a 15-year-old boy in Penrith where spoken to and dealt with under the Young Offenders Act.
The investigation is ongoing.
