Two teens charged after pursuit in Warrawong

Two teenagers have been charged following a pursuit in the Wollongong area last night, NSW Police say.

About 11.40pm yesterday, officers attached to the Police Dog Unit attempted to stop a stolen Toyota Corolla on Minnegang Street, Warrawong.

The vehicle failed to stop and a pursuit was initiated.

With the assistance of officers from Lake Illawarra Local Area Command, a short time later the vehicle was located abandoned in Malcolm Avenue, Cringila.

Two teenage males were located in the backyard of a home nearby and arrested.

It will be alleged the same vehicle was involved in a pursuit on Tuesday 13 June 2017 at Warilla.

A 15-year-old was charged with police pursuit - not stop - drive dangerously (x2), take & drive conveyance without consent of owner (x2), never licensed person drive vehicle on road, and three outstanding warrants

A 16-year-old was charged with be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner.

Both were refused bail to appear at a children’s court today.
