Two teens injured in crash in Unanderra

Two teens have been injured in a car crash south of Sydney last night, NSW Police say.

About 7.30pm today, a 17-year-old youth and his 17-year-old passenger were travelling north on the Princes Highway, Unanderra, in a Mitsubishi Mirage.

When the vehicle approached the intersection of Nolan Street the Mirage attempted to make a right hand turn and collided with a Ford Territory being driven south on the Princes Highway by a 34-year-old man.

The male driver of the Mirage suffered head injuries and was taken to St George Hospital where he is in a stable condition.

His passenger was taken to Wollongong Hospital with shoulder and hip injuries.

The driver of the Territory sustained an injury to his wrist and was treated at the scene.

Police from Lake Illawarra Local Area Command continue their inquiries and would like to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the crash to come forward.
