Two vehicle crash - Milperra

Seven people remain in hospital following a two-vehicle crash in Sydney's west early this morning.

About 2am (Saturday 23 December 2023), officers attached to Traffic and Highway Patrol were patrolling Milperra Road when they observed a sedan driving westbound allegedly travelling approximately 140km/hr in a sign-posted 70km/hr zone.

Officers activated lights and sirens just as the sedan collided with a 4WD.

A 43-year-old woman, and three children – aged 10, 14, and 15 – were trapped inside the 4WD for a short time, before they were released and assessed by NSW Ambulance paramedics.

All four were taken to hospitals in Westmead with serious injuries, however are not considered life-threatening.

Two male passengers of the sedan, both aged 18, were taken to Liverpool Hospital for treatment in stable conditions.

The driver of the sedan, an 18-year-old man, was also taken to Liverpool Hospital under police guard for mandatory testing.

Officers from Bankstown Police Area Command established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist police from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit.
