Two women arrested over heroin seizure , SA

Two women from NSW have been charged with drug trafficking after police seized over 700 grams of heroin this afternoon at Monarto, according to SA Police.

Just after 1pm on Monday 23 January, Detectives from Serious and Organised Crime stopped two women in a car on the South-Eastern Freeway at Monarto heading towards Adelaide.

A search of the car allegedly located a significant quantity of illicit drugs, namely four blocks of heroin weighing a total of 730grams.

The two women both aged 45-years-old from Green Valley and Heckenberg in NSW, were both arrested and charged with trafficking a commercial quantity of a controlled substance.

Both women have been refused police bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court tomorrow.
