Two youths injured in stolen car crash

Two youths were injured after the stolen car they were driving was involved in a crash at Chandlers Hill this evening.

Police received multiple calls from the public reporting two young children seen driving a car through the southern suburbs, barely able to see over the steering wheel.

The Nissan sedan, which had been reported stolen from Noarlunga Centre on Wednesday 1 March, was spotted travelling through Seacliff around 6pm on Thursday 2 March.

At 7pm, the stolen vehicle was involved in a head-on collision with another vehicle at the intersection of Sugarloaf Road and Chandlers Hill Road, Chandlers Hill.

The two boys, aged 14 and 15, both from Morphett Vale, were taken by ambulance to the Flinders Medical Centre. Their injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The driver of the other vehicle, a 41-year-old Kangarilla man, was not injured in the crash.

Investigations are continuing and the youths are expected to face charges after receiving medical treatment.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
