For two centuries, the University of Cincinnati has built an art collection that connects creativity across generations and serves as a resource for both students and the broader community.
Pieces from the university's collection are now on view at the Contemporary Arts Center through April 5, 2026. The exhibition coincides with the release of a new book, "Collecting Art: Reflections on Works at the University of Cincinnati," which explores the history, preservation and educational role of the collection.
On WVXU's Cincinnati Edition, UC leaders discussed how the collection continues to evolve and how it is used as a teaching tool for the public. Guests included Kristi Nelson, provost emeritus; Robert Probst, dean emeritus of UC's College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning; and Aaron Cowan, director of UC's art collection and galleries.
