National Capital Region, May 14, 2019 - Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) wishes to advise the public that the Union Bridge on the Chaudière Crossing will remain closed until August 2019 to all private, commercial and truck traffic until the completion of the planned construction work in support of the residential/commercial development along the Booth/Eddy corridor.

The crossing will remain closed to all modes of transportation until the water levels recede, the inspections can be completed, and the bridge is deemed safe for use. Once the Union Bridge is deemed to be safe, it will reopen for public transit, pedestrians and cyclists only. Vehicular traffic will resume once the development is complete.

The Union Bridge on the Chaudière Crossing will remain closed to all private/commercial/truck vehicles until August 2019. Private vehicles will continue to be rerouted to the Portage Bridge and commercial/truck traffic to the Macdonald-Cartier Bridge.

PSPC continues to work with its partners to ensure the impacts of the Union Bridge closure and construction work on traffic will be minimized.
