Union rally Monday Feb 19

CEPU SA Electrical and Plumbing

The Communications Electrical and Plumbing Union has been inEnterprise Agreement negotiations with Allwater on behalf of around 30 Electricians.

These tradespeople are employed to maintain and repair SAWater Corporations Water and Waste Water plants including State-wideinfrastructure.

Negotiations are unresolved despite having been ongoing for3 years.

There is an in-principle agreement on all matters exceptAllwater’s claim to remove the provision of Rostered Days Off (RDOs). Employeeshave had an RDO system in place for the last 36 years- since the inception ofthe 38-hour week in 1982.

This is another example of employers attempting to stripaway long-established entitlements by taking advantage of an industrialrelations system that is heavily biased against working people.

It is anticipated Federal Shadow Industrial RelationsMinister Brendan O’Conner will speak at the Rally
