Explore new spaces for dogs to play, new grass still establishing
Two new agility areas are now open at the Jack Edwards Reserve dog off-leash area, giving dogs more opportunities to explore, exercise and play.
Whether your dog loves zoomies, sniffing, climbing or digging, there are now more ways to enjoy a visit to the park.
The agility areas are part of a range of upgrades, including:
- Timber logs and rocks to explore
- A digging pit
- Weave poles
- New seating
- A concrete pathway
- Upgraded gates
- A drinking fountain
- Dog etiquette signs
- Bin and dog bag dispenser.
Fenced off areas while grass establishes
Visitors will notice some areas are fenced off. These sections have been freshly planted with grass, which needs time to grow strong roots so it can handle the daily wear and tear that comes with a popular off-leash area.
During consultation, residents told us about bare patches at the park.
By staying off the fenced areas, we can give the grass the best chance to establish, creating a greener, more resilient park in the long run.
Some fenced areas are expected to stay closed until March 2027.
While the grass grows, there is still plenty of space to enjoy the new agility features and other improvements throughout the park.
Thank you for helping us protect the newly planted areas so they can provide a better experience for dogs and their owners in the long term.
