United Australia Party officially registered

United Australia Party federal leader Clive Palmer announced today that the Australian Electoral Commission had approved the party’s application for registration and the party was now officially registered.

“This is a great day for the party and also for Australia,” Mr Palmer said.

Mr Palmer said that the United Australia Party was first established at a time when the nation needed stability early last century and was the party of choice by Australian Prime Ministers Joseph Lyons and Sir Robert Menzies.

“Its re-establishment and official approval today as a registered party under the Commonwealth Electoral Act 1918 marks a significant milestone in the history of Australian politics,” Mr Palmer said.

“For the first time Australia has real choice instead of the duopoly that Liberal and Labor have created by voting together to keep other alternatives out of the Federal parliament.”

Mr Palmer said the party would contest all upper and lower house seats in the upcoming federal election and would seek to garner the support of all Australians.

“We have very strong membership and interest in our party and have formally opened nominations for all 151 lower house seats and all Senate positions.

“The established parties talk about helping the country but all they’ve ever done is stifle political alternatives,” Mr Palmer said.

“Unlike them, the United Australia Party will not be comprised of career politicians. We are a party made up of genuine Australians who want to serve the country, to change the course of history and steer in a bright new era for Australia,” he said.

“This is a critical time in our history. Already, a huge number of people have withdrawn support and lost confidence in the Liberal and Labor duopoly that is dragging the country down. That number is growing rapidly because the Liberals and Labor continually show how out of touch they are with the people they were elected to represent.”

Mr Palmer said public service was about serving the public for the betterment of our great nation, not about personal gain.

“Hardworking Australians are looking for an effective alternative and that alternative is the United Australia Party. We will provide the strong leadership, the vision, the policies and the plan to make Australia great again,” he said.

“The United Australia Party has received a huge response from members of other parties that are dissatisfied with their leadership and think that Australia can do more and provide real prosperity for all its citizens.”
